  • What are the requirements to qualify for an interview?

    Our requirements are very simple:

    • You must have passed an English exam (IELTS/OET) or working towards it.
    • You must be a Registered Nurse (RN), and have a Nursing qualification.
    • You can apply immediately after completing nursing diploma or degree.

    The typical duration of the contract with our European clients is 3 years. It might vary depending on the client’s requirements. The professionals can get the permanent residency status after fulfilling the requirements of the stay in number of years in the specific country.

  • How long does it take from the time I sign an offer letter until I arrive in the U.K.?

    Processing time can vary based on:

    1. How long it takes to complete the IELTS and CBT exam. Most nurses need 6 months to fully prepare and apply for the same. We will begin processing your visa once you pass the NMC stage.
    2. The timeframe the NMC requires to process paperwork, may vary from 45 to 90 days.
  • How much time will it take for me to start with my new job?

    Depending upon the current stage of nurse, it may vary from 1 month to 1 year for a candidate to start working. Also, the amount of time it will take to complete testing, licensing and immigration depends on a number of factors, including your education and experience, and the available immigration options.

  • What if I already have IELTS and/or CBT when I apply? Do you offer reimbursements?

    Yes. If hired, you will be reimbursed for the expenses of your unexpired credentials provided that you were able to show proof of passing and payment.

  • As my employer, what type of visa will you provide me?

    We petition nurses under the Tier 2 – Employment Based Immigrant Visa. This visa allows professionals to work in the hospital who have sponsored them for their work for a fixed term.

  • How long is my visa valid?

    Your visa is good for three year. Once you arrive in the United Kingdom you receive a stamp which will extend the validity from the date on the stamp.

  • Do I have to pay you back for any of the sponsorship expenses?

    No, you never have to pay us back for any of the expenses. You will find no hidden charges such as “administration fees,” “immigration fees,” or “salary deduction” in the U.K. for any processing.

  • Can I switch jobs during my visa processing?

    It is possible. It is important that you remain employed in hospital care setting while undergoing visa processing. If you choose to switch hospitals or units while being processed, the proposed hospital and nursing unit must be approved by Walsons Healthcare prior to interviewing for such a position. If we think the change will jeopardize your chances to work in the U.K., we will not approve the change.

  • Is Walsons Healthcare my employer and the petitioner? How do I get my hospital assignment?

    Walsons has client hospitals all over the United Kingdom, and we are always adding more. All are excellent NHS trust based Hospitals and some of them are care homes as well. The hospital assignment will be determined by one or more interviews with client hospitals and your decision to work there.

  • So I get to decide? You don’t decide for me?

    That is correct. It is your decision whether to select an offered position or not. Having an open mind about the placement process is best as we work hard to provide a good fit for you. We believe in One-Hospital-One Nurse-One Time. This way, you can settle into your new community sooner and know you will not have to uproot your family or friendships made in the U.K. when your contract ends.

  • Do you provide continuing education/clinical support during my contract?

    Yes, Walsons Healthcare and your client facility will provide clinical resources to help you adjust to a new working environment. This includes, but is not limited to, helpful articles, and continuing education modules. If you wish to pursue your education in the UK, we have facilities of extending loan to you as well.

  • What will my pay rate be in the U.K.?

    On an average, Band 5 NHS nurses makes an average salary of 22000-25000 GBP.

  • Is there a specific specialty I should try to gain experience in?
